Necronomicon 2012

I had the opportunity to attend the 2012 Necronomicon convention in St. Petersburg this last weekend. I enjoyed being around others who write science fiction and fantasy and came home with a supply of new books that should keep me happy for many evenings. Alas, since my fantasy story isn’t available in hard copy, I didn’t get to flog it along with everyone else, but those who have embraced e-reading appreciated being able to download a full-length novel for free. So far, I’ve only heard good reviews.

Linnea Sinclair was the guest of honor and gave the opening ceremony speech. She writes in a similar vein to me—romantic sci-fi, so I jumped at the chance to hear her. Linnea is really funny and entertaining and if you haven’t read any of her novels, I heartily recommend them. I got to chat with her and she let it be known that one of her books is being made into a movie. I read the book several years ago and thought at the time it would make a really great movie. (Romantic, funny, and action-filled!) So when it comes around, be sure to catch “The Down Home Alien Blues.” You’ll not regret it.

About The Ferro Guy

The Ferromagnetic Generator is one of those ‘maybe’ ideas that could have great potential--and even free us from our dependency on oil--or it could be a complete flop. This Blog is a companion to my website where I can discuss my ongoing work, and of course, my thoughts on everything from the weather to politics to the possibility of an afterlife. As I’m also a writer, I intend to shamelessly plug my work at every opportunity.
